Celebrating Culture, Community, and Connection at AACC’s 43rd Annual Lunar New Year Gala
We had a wonderful time at the 43rd Annual Lunar New Year Celebration hosted by the Asian American Coalition of Chicago (AACC) last February 28, 2026 at the Marriott Hotel!
The evening was filled with vibrant and colorful decorations symbolizing the Lunar New Year—red and gold everywhere, representing prosperity, joy, and new beginnings. I attended with my husband, Ian Sharping, and it was such a joy celebrating alongside fellow members of Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago (FALA) and Philippine American Chamber of Commerce (PACCGC).
The event was more than just a celebration—it was an opportunity for meaningful networking and building genuine connections within our community. It was also so nice seeing familiar faces and reconnecting with friends and colleagues.
We were especially proud that PACCGC attended to support and congratulate Jaime DeJuras for being named one of the 2026 Exemplary Community Service Awardees, alongside Jane Lau. What an incredible honor!
Adding to the magic of the evening, Shin Lim, winner of America’s Got Talent, wowed the audience with his amazing magic tricks. And of course, the lion dance performance was absolutely spectacular—bringing energy, tradition, and good fortune to everyone in attendance.
Pinay Law was also happy to share a little Lunar New Year cheer by giving out festive goodies to celebrate the occasion.
Grateful for community, culture, and connection. Wishing everyone a prosperous, joyful, and successful Lunar New Year!
