ClioCon 2025 – Day 2: Innovation, Cybersecurity, and Resilience in the Future of Law
Day 2 of ClioCon 2025 in Boston was more than a continuation of a conference—it was a momentum shift. It was a day of transformation, resilience, and leadership for those willing to embrace the evolution of the legal profession. I once again attended with Alexis Conley, and I could feel the collective energy rise as thousands of legal professionals, innovators, and analysts filled the venue ready to push boundaries.
But for me and Pinay Law, Day 2 was especially meaningful—because I stepped on stage.
Taking the Stage: AI & Cybersecurity Panel
I had the honor of presenting alongside Gavin Miller, Director of Application Security at Clio, in a session that explored an issue every law firm must now confront:
“The Role of AI in the Changing Cybersecurity Landscape.”
Cybersecurity isn’t a buzzword—it’s a legal ethics obligation, and as AI continues to power law firm operations, automation, and analytics, the vulnerabilities it introduces grow just as quickly as its capabilities; during our session, we discussed the rising threat of cyberattacks targeting law firms, how AI can both strengthen and expose data security, essential cybersecurity protocols every firm should implement, and practical risk mitigation strategies for small and growing legal practices.
I shared the story of how Pinay Law survived and rebuilt after becoming a target of one of the biggest scams our firm had ever faced.
That experience was painful, disruptive, and business-threatening—yet it became a defining moment in our journey. Instead of breaking us, it forced us to evolve. We rebuilt our systems with stronger cybersecurity infrastructure, adopted multi-layer verification protocols, and trained our team to practice security-informed lawyering. What began as a crisis became a catalyst.
Our story resonated with other firm owners who approached me afterward—many quietly admitting they had also been targeted by scams or cyber threats but were hesitant to speak about it. That’s exactly why I shared it. Silence doesn’t protect us—preparation does.
Day 2 was packed with hands-on workshops, AI product demos, and deep discussions on how legal professionals can build future-ready firms, and my key takeaways were clear: AI is not replacing lawyers—but lawyers who use AI will replace those who don’t; firm growth now depends equally on client experience and cybersecurity; legal technology is no longer optional but has become the infrastructure of a modern law firm; and above all, community matters because innovation is built through shared knowledge. From automation tools to new Clio product features, the conference showed not only where legal technology is today—but where it is heading tomorrow.
Before Day 2 even ended, I registered for ClioCon 2026. That’s how powerful this experience has been. Growth doesn’t happen by accident—it happens when we invest in knowledge, technology, and community. ClioCon makes that possible. And as Pinay Law continues evolving—strengthened by innovation, transparency, and resilience—I am excited to keep leading with purpose.
ClioCon 2025 wasn’t just memorable. It was pivotal.
Photos from Day 2 will be added below soon.
