Connecting with the Legal Community at FALA’s 2025 Golf Event
There’s something special about stepping away from the office, trading in legal pads for golf clubs, and spending a day under the sun with familiar faces from the legal community. Recently, I had the chance to do just that at a wonderful golf event hosted by the Filipino American Lawyers Association (FALA) — and it was more than just a day on the course. It was an opportunity to reconnect, recharge, and celebrate the strong sense of camaraderie that makes our legal community truly unique.
This year’s gathering felt extra special for our family as we joined in the celebration of Ian Sharping, my husband, who will be serving as FALA’s president for 2025. It’s inspiring to see the vision and dedication he brings to the organization and to know that exciting things are ahead for the Filipino American legal community in the coming year.
The event itself was the perfect blend of fun and meaningful connection. We shared stories, laughter, and a few friendly competitions on the fairways — a refreshing reminder that beyond the courtroom and conference rooms, our profession is also about building lasting relationships.
It was also a family affair for us! Our kids, Kai and Leo, tagged along and had a fantastic time experiencing the event. Seeing them enjoy the day and witness the power of community made the occasion even more memorable.
Moments like these remind me why I love what I do — not just practicing law, but being part of a supportive, dynamic network of professionals who uplift one another.
If you missed this event, don’t worry — there’s more to come! Be sure to check out FALA’s website for updates on future gatherings, networking opportunities, and community events. With Ian leading the organization into 2025, there’s no doubt it will be an exciting year ahead.
