Panel Recap: Growing Your Practice — Real Lessons from the Field
On October 22, I had the honor of speaking at the Panel: Growing Your Practice, an engaging discussion that brought together lawyers and firm owners to share real-world insights on law firm growth, leadership, and resilience.
Hosted by ISBA Mutual, the panel gathered experienced practitioners who have navigated the challenges of building and sustaining successful law practices in today’s evolving legal landscape. Each speaker shared lessons learned from their own journeys — from starting out solo to managing a growing team and adapting to new technologies.
As part of the panel, I had the opportunity to share Pinay Law’s growth story — how our firm evolved from humble beginnings into a practice that proudly serves Filipino-American families and individuals seeking compassionate, competent representation in family law, estate planning, and probate matters.
We discussed topics that resonate deeply with many in the legal profession:
- The importance of finding your niche and staying true to your firm’s mission.
- How to embrace technology without losing the personal touch clients value most.
- Building a team culture that promotes mentorship, collaboration, and purpose.
- Managing the balance between growth and integrity — ensuring client care remains at the heart of every decision.
The panel was not just about business strategies, but also about connection — sharing challenges and breakthroughs that unite us as professionals in service to our communities.
Events like these remind me that growth in law isn’t measured solely by size or revenue, but by the impact we make — on clients, on our teams, and within the broader legal community.
Thank you to ISBA Mutual for hosting such an empowering conversation, and to my fellow panelists for the wisdom and inspiration they shared. I look forward to continuing the dialogue and supporting other lawyers who are ready to grow with purpose.
