Celebrating Women Leaders at “80 for 80”
On March 6, 2026, I had the honor of attending the inspiring event, “80 for 80: 80 Filipino-American Women Leaders over the Past 80 Years of Philippine–USA Diplomatic Friendship.” This meaningful celebration highlighted the remarkable contributions of Filipino-American women who have helped shape our communities, strengthen cultural ties, and foster lasting connections between the Philippines and the United States. 🇵🇭🇺🇸
The event was especially timely as it took place during International Women’s Month and just two days before International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026. It served as a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and leadership that women continue to demonstrate across generations.
I was truly honored to receive a Certificate of Recognition during the event. Being acknowledged alongside so many accomplished and inspiring women was both humbling and deeply meaningful.
The evening was also graced by the presence of the Consul General, whose attendance underscored the importance of celebrating the long-standing diplomatic friendship between the Philippines and the United States. It was wonderful to see the strong support for recognizing the achievements of Filipino-American women leaders.
What made the event even more special was the opportunity to celebrate alongside friends of mine who are also strong, empowered women—individuals who continue to make a difference in our community through their leadership, dedication, and service.
Events like “80 for 80” remind us that the legacy of Filipino-American women leaders is not only something to celebrate, but also something to continue building upon for future generations.
I will be including photos from the event below to share some of the memorable moments from this inspiring celebration.
